How many people suffer from low self-esteem? Many people regret having missed out on an education or a 2nd or 3rd University degree and still believe that they are too ordinary to make a difference. Well, let me tell you that EVERYONE is gifted with SOMETHING. Today we hear from SUSAN & TONY of a woman who against all odds made enough difference to have a monument erected in her honour and who may well be beatified sometime in the not too distant future. Like Bernadette of Lourdes, she never learned to read or write. This is a MARGARET OF NEW ORLEANS SPECIAL directly from her cottage in TULLY, CARRIGALLEN, LEITRIM - where I spoke with Volunteers during opening hours last Sunday. You can also listen to a Singer/Songwriter called TONY FAHY who has written several songs about MARGARET for the plays of Maura Williamson: "Our Story of Margaret of New Orleans", "The Other Place" and a version of one called "Margaret's Story". TONY and the Leitrim Youth Theatre Company (LYTC) hope to record an Album in her honour with other locals. MARGARET’S COTTAGE is open EVERY SUNDAY from July to September from 2.00pm to 5.00pm for visitors. For more info please contact: 00353 (0) 86 3045126 OR 00353 (0) 87 9036436 OR 00353 (0) 86 869 6686 OR email info@margaretsbirthplace.com …
P.S. CORRECTION: MARGARET WAS NOT BORN IN CAVAN AS SUGGESTED IN THE INTRODUCTION – BUT IN LEITRIM – APOLOGIES FOR THAT ERROR
