Each November, the Parkinson's Foundation recognizes National Family Caregivers Month as an important time to celebrate and honor the many contributions of the millions of Americans caring for a loved one living with a chronic condition like Parkinson's disease (PD). This year, more than ever, the care partner community deserves recognition for the unwavering support they provided, and continue to provide, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our daily lives.
John L. Lehr is the President and CEO of the non-profit Parkinson’s Foundation, and Marie Head, primary caregiver for her husband who was diagnosed with PD in 2011 join Mark Alyn on this episode f Late Night Health. You’ll learn how a strong support network is essential and that care partners must make sure they are taken care of, too. Additionally, the Foundation provides dedicated articles at Parkinson.org/Caregiving, a guidebook titled Caring and Coping, and a discussion group on its online community aimed to help care partners build an online community.
