Hu: István Budapestre érkezett.
En: István arrived in Budapest.

Hu: Hajnalban, mikor még csak a város alsóbb szintjei kapirgáltak, csodálattal szemlélte a homályban hangulatosan fittyenő utcarészleteket.
En: In the early hours of the morning, when only the lower levels of the city were stirring, he admired the charmingly winking street scenes in the darkness.

Hu: Nem volt ott még soha.
En: He had never been there before.

Hu: A térkép a hátizsákjában volt.
En: The map was in his backpack.

Hu: Fejjel lefelé kényszerült végigjárni a város izgalmas képét.
En: He was forced to walk through the exciting image of the city upside down.

Hu: Az utcák kacskaringósak voltak, mint egy összekuszált fonallabdának a szálai.
En: The streets were winding, like the threads of a tangled ball of yarn.

Hu: István kíváncsian pillantott rájuk, a szemei tele voltak csodálattal, de a feje tele volt zűrzavarral.

En: But he hadn't.

Hu: Csak a térképet forogtatta fejjel lefelé.
En: He just turned the map upside down.

Hu: A zavaró utcák között kóborolt, miközben az emberek szaporán haladtak el mellette.
En: He wandered among the confusing streets as people hurried past him.

En: No one cared about him.

En: The people, the place, and the atmosphere were all new to him.

En: But the timely gift of rain in the afternoon dispersed the gloom.

Hu: Az esőicsek szerteszét fröccsentek, mint István kallódó gondolatai.
En: The raindrops splashed around like István's wandering thoughts.
