The recently concluded COP27 highlighted an issue that has been a part of the climate debate but in the peripheries- loss and damage which means losses and damages suffered by countries due to climate disasters. For the first time in history, loss and damage captured the centre stage of a climate conference, making it a historic event. Indian Express’ Amitabh Sinha, who was present at the conference in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh, joins us in this episode to talk about the debates on loss and damage and the outcome of COP27.
