The show has a very good following. I am humbled by the support that I continue to have. The day I left Radio One, I remember thinking to myself, "Now I'm going to do what I have always wanted to do". I'm grew tired of allowing others to maximize my talents. Radio One was good to me and for me. I was given wide latitude to develop. I met a lot of talented people, who I am still cool with to this day. My first regular gig in commercial radio was hosting "Straight Talk on 101.1 The Wiz. Edna Howell made Straight Talk an institution. I was nervous and excited when I got the job. I was born to do this, so I quickly settled in and made it my own. Listeners responded with love. After many years of the show being broadcast live, the decision was made for Straight Talk to be moved to an earlier time frame and to be prerecorded (remind me to tell you the story behind that move). Management still wanted me the host the show, and after some thought I decided to stick with the project. I did so for many reasons. I knew that no one else in the city would bring to the project what I have and since I didn't have much experience in production to that point-I took it has a challenge and an opportunity to expand my skills. Looking back, I developed skills that I am directly using today with my new project 'Nathan Ivey Online". I'm "OCD" about sound quality. I want my sound to be perfect. I'm not saying that I'm there yet, but I don't mind spending the time to get it right. Lucky for me., I spent many years prerecording Straight Talk, so I know exactly what I need to do. Big things are in the works. I am working on several partnerships that will, hopefully, expose the show to different audiences. Being the King of Straight Talk is hard work. Heavy is the crown-but I'm ready.

(Update) We took a BIG step today in starting a new business in Ohio. I have been given some great counsel and I'm excited about this new part of my professional career. Soon Ohio will have another minority owned business. This is due, in a super large part, because of #teamNI . Thank you again
