Tomika Reid is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her two daughters as a single mom and self-published author. Tomika, has been through many trials and tribulations, yet she is here STILL STANDING.

Tomika endured the loss of her mom, sister, grandmother, first and second daughters' fathers. Tomika wanted to give up many times through all of what she had to go through but the love of her daughters and God kept her going.


Tomika's first book, "Nicolli and the Shining Star" a children's book, to help a child cope with the loss of a loved one. Tomika self-published this book on behalf of her two daughters because they both lost their fathers. Not only did Tomika lose her daughters' fathers, she also lost her mom, sister and grandmother too. Many people told Tomika her story needed to be told. After receiving confirmations to write her second book; a memoir titled "Beyond the tears I've cried here I am Still Standing" she went ahead and self-published this book to help, inspire and encourage others to never give up. Tomika wanted people to see that she was a living testimony who never gave up so they can be inspired and motivated to never give up too, and to also know, "You Are Not Alone."

In November, 2014' Tomika received a Certificate of Appreciation for presenting at the General Membership Meeting from The Association of Black Educators of New York. She also conducted a Literary Workshop, in Brooklyn, New York.

Tomika has appeared on Atlanta Live, This Day with BJ Arnett on Atlanta's Channel 57. The G Wade Radio Show Podcast, Energy Toss Radio Show Podcast, The Sylbourne Sydial Show in the UK, The Lekeisha Mosley Show on Atlanta's Channel 25, FOX Soul's The Book of Sean Show and featured on The Tamron Hall Show.

Tomika has conducted a reading at the Atlanta Children's Shelter. She was also an extra on Tyler Perry's film Nobody's Fool. Tomika has also been a guest on multiple Blog Talk Radio Shows.

Tomika was a contributor for The Spin Awards Magazine. Also, featured in VoyagerATL Magazine and The Source Magazine for her first children's book.

Tomika has conducted readings at several Libraries and Day Care Centers in Brooklyn, New York and in Atlanta, Georgia. She does daily inspirational post on her social media platforms to INSPIRE, UPLIFT, ENCOURAGE and EMPOWER her followers to never give up.

In March, 2020' Tomika self-published her third book titled "Inspire your way through The Storm" a quote and poem guide book to inspire you through the storms you face today for a better tomorrow. Audiobook is also available.

In December, 2020' Tomika self-published her fourth book titled "Suzie sings, this is the color" a children's book to help children learn their main colors. What a way to LEARN and SING!


Tomika hope to turn her memoir "Beyond the tears I've cried here I am Still Standing" into a movie one day. She will continue writing, inspiring, uplifting and turning her dreams into reality.
