It's no secret that 9 News has, at minimum, a public relations nightmare on its hands with a shooting death by a so-called 'security guard' contracted to them (Matthew Dolloff). In fact, they've even outsourced reporting on the story to a reporter from their sister station, a fellow NBC affiliate in Dallas. But the question on everyone's minds is - how did a guy who didn't hold a concealed carry weapons license, or even a license to serve as a security guard in the city of Denver, end up at a 'Patriot Muster' rally with a 9 News producer? Who hired him? Who supplied his services, if not Pinkerton? Why didn't either Pinkerton or 9 News perform some form of background check on a guy who would be armed and authorized to use deadly force on their behalf? There are far more questions than answers at this point, and KBB tries to get to the bottom of it.
