Kenzie Calvert is a Western fashion creator and influencer based out of Oregon. She is part of the team of the Boot Babes and is excited to discuss her experiences. Kenzie is based in the Willamette Valley and is a coastal cowgirl, being only 40 minutes away from the coast. She has noticed the trend of coastal cowgirl gaining popularity and is using Tik Tok and Instagram to help those outside the Western world learn about being a cowgirl and to support and buy from small businesses. Kenzie has been creating content on her Tik Toks and loves to help others learn and explore new things. Kenzie is an influencer that is passionate about empowering people to stay true to themselves and to support their local businesses. She encourages people to be creative and to have fun with their fashion and to explore what it means to be a cowgirl. The speaker is a user experience designer and western fashion influencer. They went to school for computer science and found that they were better suited to the people side of things, so they specialize in finding out what people need and how to provide a better product. The speaker then went on to talk about the businesses they support, such as Dixon Boots and Blush Out West. When asked what advice they would give to someone looking to become a western fashion influencer, the speaker said to follow their heart. They also said to be aware of the influence they have everywhere they go, and to make sure to use it for good. Finally, they encouraged people to support small businesses. The conversation was about how the western world is pushing for people to get involved in business, but there is a lot of pushback from people that make fun of them. The speaker discussed the mental health struggles the western community is facing and how they have never had to deal with it before, and the importance of being kind to everyone, no matter the number of followers they have. Jokingly, the speaker mentioned that they have to carry their Western card with them to make sure others know they are Western, even when wearing more casual clothes like sweatpants and Birkenstocks. The speaker talks about growing up in a Western family and feeling like they need to prove themselves to others. They have started to embrace the rodeo world and enjoy going to rodeos. They have met some other rodeo creators and media girls, like Grace Lampo and Ashley Wear, and have built relationships with them. They have not yet been to the stockyards but are looking forward to it. They talk about Nashville being a little overrun and how the Beatles used to play in the brothels to gain their 10,000 hours of mastery. The speaker then talks about hitting 50,000 TikTok followers, which is a crazy feeling for someone who grew up in a town of 600 people. They then wonder what the actual statistics are regarding the amount of people they have reached with their TikTok.

"Interview with Kinsey Calvert of the Boot Babes"

QUOTE #9After your interview with Dixon boots. I went and bought myself a pair and I instantly fell in love with them. I felt like they were the most comfortable boot that I've ever put on didn't need to wear them around for three weeks to try to get them to break in like they were instantly ready.

QUOTE #7So I would say you're a Western fashion influencer for sure. What would you give advice to girls that want to become that? Mmm. I would say, go with your heart.
