Jueces 11: ¡De un pasado triste a un destino maravilloso!
Jueces 11:1-10:
Jefté el galaadita era un guerrero valiente. Él era hijo de una mujer prostituta, y el padre de Jefté era Galaad. Pero la mujer de Galaad también le había dado hijos, los cuales, cuando crecieron echaron a Jefté y le dijeron: “Tú no heredarás en la casa de nuestro padre, porque eres hijo de otra mujer”. Entonces Jefté huyó de sus hermanos y habitó en la tierra de Tob. Y se juntaron con Jefté hombres ociosos que salían con él.
Aconteció después de un tiempo que los hijos de Amón hicieron la guerra contra Israel. Y cuando los hijos de Amón hicieron la guerra contra Israel, los ancianos de Galaad fueron para traer a Jefté de la tierra de Tob. Y dijeron a Jefté: —Ven y serás nuestro jefe, para que combatamos contra los hijos de Amón.
Pero Jefté respondió a los ancianos de Galaad: —¿No son ustedes los que me odiaron y me echaron de la casa de mi padre? ¿Por qué, pues, vienen a mí ahora, cuando están en aflicción?
Los ancianos de Galaad respondieron a Jefté: —Por esta misma razón volvemos ahora a ti, para que vengas con nosotros, y combatas contra los hijos de Amón y seas nuestro caudillo, el de todos los habitantes de Galaad.
Entonces Jefté dijo a los ancianos de Galaad: —Si me hacen volver para que combata contra los hijos de Amón, y el SEÑOR los entrega en mi mano, yo seré su caudillo.
Y los ancianos de Galaad respondieron a Jefté: —El SEÑOR sea testigo entre nosotros, si no hacemos como tú dices.

El personaje de esta historia, Jefté, es muy especial, pues vemos la vida de un hombre menospreciado por la sociedad, por sus parientes y sus hermanos por el hecho de que su padre lo engendró con una mujer que no era su esposa y ni siquiera su concubina. Eso hacía que Jefté no tuviera muchos beneficios entre las posesiones de su padre, cuando sus hermanos crecieron lo expulsaron por su origen.
Esta afrenta que sufrió Jefté era algo que él no había buscado. No fue su decisión venir al mundo como producto del pecado de su padre y su madre; sin embargo, esto lo había marcado de por vida.
Esta circunstancia lo impulsó a convertirse en un pandillero. Jefté tenía un espíritu de guerrero, de valiente, pero este talento fue desperdiciado por su comunidad, y esto hizo que el formara un grupo de desocupados para tal vez robar en el camino a los que pasaban por ahí; comenzó a formar su propia comunidad con gente despreciada.
Pero su destino cambió drásticamente cuando sus hermanos y su comunidad comenzaron a sufrir ataques del enemigo y el enemigo les declaró la guerra. Ahí su gente reconoció que Jefté era el único guerrero capaz de enfrentar este enemigo. ¡Valoraron sus dones y talentos en el arte del combate y lo colocaron como líder principal sobre ellos!
De la misma manera muchos podrán identificarse hoy con Jefté. Posiblemente llevas la afrenta de una familia disfuncional. Un padre borracho o mujeriego, unos padres conflictivos e irresponsables. Tal vez tu apellido es sinónimo de problemas o de mala reputación en el pueblo o barrio donde creciste. Tal vez esa inestabilidad ha hecho que tomes un camino más duro en la vida. Pero vino la luz del Señor y te alumbró, cambió tu destino y transformó tu vida.
Lo importante es creer que el Señor nos ha llamado y escogido, que Él cambia nuestro destino turbio y sombrío por uno claro y próspero.
También es importante no vivir pensando y recordando el pasado. Jefté pudo superar esos recuerdos tristes y las ofensas de sus parientes al ver cómo ahora estaban rogándole que los protegiera y liberara del enemigo. Él no guardó rencor sino que les hizo el reclamo del mal trato que recibió de ellos pero accedió a la propuesta que le hicieron. ¡Él pasó de ser la persona más despreciada a la más apreciada, del menos importante al más importante!
Por eso recordemos lo que Dios puede hacer con aquellos que están en el anonimato, que han sido despreciados por la sociedad. ¡Dios los exalta!
1 Corintios 1:26-29 dice: “Pues considerad, hermanos, su llamamiento: No son muchos sabios según la carne, ni muchos poderosos, ni muchos nobles. Más bien, Dios ha elegido lo necio del mundo para avergonzar a los sabios, y lo débil del mundo Dios ha elegido para avergonzar a lo fuerte. Dios ha elegido lo vil del mundo y lo menospreciado; lo que no es, para deshacer lo que es, a fin de que nadie se jacte delante de Dios.”
¡Déjate usar por el Señor, no viviendo en las malas experiencias del pasado y mira cómo Dios se glorificará en tu vida, transformando tu destino!

Judges 11: From a sad past to a wonderful destiny!
Judges 11:1-10:
Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valor, but he was the son of a harlot; and Gilead begot Jephthah. Gilead’s wife bore sons; and when his wife’s sons grew up, they drove Jephthah out, and said to him, “You shall have no inheritance in our father’s house, for you are the son of another woman.” Then Jephthah fled from his brothers and dwelt in the land of Tob; and worthless men banded together with Jephthah and went out raiding with him.
It came to pass after a time that the people of Ammon made war against Israel. And so it was, when the people of Ammon made war against Israel, that the elders of Gilead went to get Jephthah from the land of Tob. Then they said to Jephthah, “Come and be our commander, that we may fight against the people of Ammon.”
So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, “Did you not hate me, and expel me from my father’s house? Why have you come to me now when you are in distress?”
And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “That is why we have turned again to you now, that you may go with us and fight against the people of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.”
So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, “If you take me back home to fight against the people of Ammon, and the Lord delivers them to me, shall I be your head?”
And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “The Lord will be a witness between us, if we do not do according to your words.”

The character in this story, Jephthah, is very special, because we see the life of a man despised by society, by his relatives and his brothers because his father fathered him with a woman that she was not his wife and not even his concubine. That meant that Jephta did not have many benefits among his father's possessions, when his brothers grew up they expelled him because of his origin.
This affront that Jephthah suffered was something that he had not sought. It was not his decision to come into the world as a product of the sin of his father and mother; however, this had scarred him for life.
This circumstance prompted him to become a gang member. Jephthah had a brave, warrior spirit, but this talent was wasted by his community, and this made him form a group of unoccupied people to perhaps rob those who passed by along the way; he began to form his own community with despised people.
But his destiny changed drastically when his brothers and his community began to come under attack from the enemy and the enemy declared war on them. There his people recognized that Jephthah was the only warrior capable of facing this enemy. They valued his gifts and talents in the art of combat and placed him as the main leader over them!
In the same way many today will be able to identify with Jephthah. Possibly you bear the affront of a dysfunctional family. A drunk or womanizing father, conflicting and irresponsible parents. Perhaps your last name is synonymous with problems or a bad reputation in the town or neighborhood where you grew up. Perhaps that instability has caused you to take a harder path in life. But the light of the Lord came and enlightened you, changed your destiny and transformed your life.
The important thing is to believe that the Lord has called and chosen us, that He changes our dark and gloomy destiny for a clear and prosperous one.
It is also important not to live thinking and remembering the past. Jephthah was able to overcome those sad memories and the offenses of his relatives by seeing how they were now begging him to protect them and deliver them from the enemy. He did not hold a grudge but made a complaint about the bad treatment he received from them but agreed to the proposal they made him. He went from being the most despised person to the most appreciated, from the least important to the most important!
So let us remember what God can do with those who are anonymous, who have been despised by society. God exalts you!
1 Corinthians 1:26-29 says: “For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.”
Let yourself be used by the Lord, not living in the bad experiences of the past and see how God will glorify Himself in your life, transforming your destiny!
