You may have noticed that the British Pound has taken a bit of a hammering recently.

This makes finding a good value holiday tougher than it has been for the last few years.

The options are; stay in the UK (I do hate the word 'staycation'), or speak to someone who knows where to go for a great value overseas holiday.

My first guest covers the first option. Alex Graeme runs Devon Unique Tours. Devon has plenty of magical legends and outstanding landscapes.

Award winning Alex can help you to fully appreciate the two coastlines, the two National Parks and the five official Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

His tours also cover the great works of fiction associated with the county.

Finally, what goes on first? The cream or jam? Listen to Alex to find out.

When it comes to finding places to stay in Devon, Alex knows his stuff.

He tells us about the Ilsington Country House Hotel. This small, dog friendly, family-owned, hotel in Dartmoor has more to offer than its size may suggest.

Alex talks about the gym, the spa and the special themed breaks. We also find out about the two AA rosette Devon restaurant.

The second option is covered by my second guest, David Skillicorn. David is the general manager at Prestige Holidays.

The specialists in luxury holidays celebrated its 27th anniversary this year.

David talks about financial security for your bookings and how the company puts holidays together.

Giving honest advice, David suggests where to visit for good value holidays, even with the exchange rates as they are, and what’s hot for 2017.

It’s not just the value of the Pound that makes finding a holiday a bit of a challenge, other factors have decreased availability.

David gives advice on when to book next year’s holiday so that you don’t end up disappointed with the options available to you.

Finally, the travel industry is a great one to work in. David gives advice on how to break into the industry and the attitude needed to progress and give value.
