A Calgary Flames Legend, Joe Nieuwendyk was traded to the Dallas Stars for Corey Miller and Jarome Iginla.

Who said Flames fans?

Iginla was the 11th overall pick of the Dallas Stars. He was a Kamloops Blazer star and 2 time Memorial Cup Champion. But Flames fans didn’t know who he was.

23 years later, it’s hard not to mention the Calgary Flames without Jerome Iginla.

Iginla, a 2 time Rocket Richard inner, Art Ross, Lester B.Pearson, King Clancy, NHL Foundation, Mark Messier Rex Green, 2 time Olympic Gold Medal officially announced his retirement today as a Calgary Flame.

Today we reflect on his legacy, his personal impact and we pay tribute to Jarome Iginla.

Connor Turner and I reflect on the career of Jarome Iginla and his impact on and off the ice with the Calgary Flames.

This includes his beginning years with the Flames, his 50 goal year in 2002. The 2004 run and the moment he was traded and returned .
