The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Home Price Indices are the leading measures of U.S. residential real estate prices, tracking changes in the value of residential real estate nationally. Their latest report shows that San Diego metro had the fifth-highest price increases in the nation on an annual basis, closing out 2021 with home prices up 25.9 percent in a year. That massive increase is the largest in California! With home prices continuing to skyrocket I had to ask, is the American dream of home ownership slipping away from San Diegans?
