After taking some time to work on another podcast about challenges in the NC disability community (The Waiting Room... check it out here), and working on podcasting skills thanks to a Fellowship Award from SARTAC (Self Advocacy Technical Assitance Center), Kenneth talks with Liz Weintraub for a very special episode on Advocacy, disablity rights and telling your story.
Liz Weintraub is a Policy Specialist with the AUCD (Association of University Centers on Disability) who is known for her honest and candid approach to disability advocacy. Her videocast Tuesday's with Liz, can be seen on YouTube. Liz talks about her journey to being an advocate for herself from an early age, and how she shares that skill with others. She has made several visits to Capitol Hill and was asked to speak at the Brett Kavanaugh hearings which she talks about in this episode.
