Garvis Leak the following are general recommendations for MRI frequency for people with PPMS: 1) Annually while on a disease modifying therapy is a reasonable frequency to follow. If there are specific symptoms that are new or worsening, that can be localized to the spinal cord (cervical or thoracic), an MRI of the spinal cord should be ordered. 2) MRI brain and/or spinal cord can be performed on a periodic basis based on new or worsening symptoms in people with PPMS not on a disease modifying therapy.

Hello to all my sisters and brothers living "this life of LUXURY", aka called Multiple Sclerosis! Many thanks for this Podcast on Importance of MRI in Multiple Sclerosis Care. While I've been through many MRI scans during the 10+ years of living with MS. Initially diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting MS beginning in February 2011 now with the aid of MRI and wisdom of an awesome Neurology team at the MS Center for Excellence in Baltimore MD and the Neurology team at the VA hospital located in Martinsburg, West Virginia I have now been diagnosed with Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis.
