How would you fill in this blank. Hello, I am... Most of us would use our name, but if I asked you to write in the one thing that identifies you, what would you write? Many times our core identity is based on the culture of the day. Traditional culture...your work or marital status, what you excel at doing-your achievements. Modern culture...I'm self made, I make my own way.
But there is a third way...to understand that as believers in Christ the core identity through which everything else flow is this..I am loved, I am significant, I am valued, I am affirmed, I am enough regardless of everything else in my life. Our core identity in Christ means I no longer have to achieve this or be that but rather I allow who I am in Christ to inform all the other aspects of my life. No more self conciseness, no more completion. Just the real me-unique and wonderful, made in the image of my God.
