Story Transcript:

It: Era una bella giornata a Venezia e i due amici, Mario e Carlo, si erano decisi di fare un giro nella famosa Piazza San Marco.
En: It was a beautiful day in Venice and the two friends, Mario and Carlo, had decided to take a tour of the famous Piazza San Marco.

It: Sognavano di fare qualche foto da condividere sui social network per rendere geloso il resto dei loro amici.
En: They dreamed of taking some pictures to share on social networks to make the rest of their friends jealous.

It: Arrivati in Piazza, i due amici decisero di fare un selfie con alle spalle la famosa Basilica di San Marco.
En: Once in the square, the two friends decided to take a selfie with the famous Basilica of San Marco behind them.

It: Mentre cercavano la giusta posizione, Mario improvvisamente si accorse di un piccione che volava verso di loro, cercando qualcosa da mangiare.
En: While they were looking for the right position, Mario suddenly noticed a pigeon flying towards them, looking for something to eat.

It: Nel tentativo di farsi fotografare mentre tenevano i loro coni di gelato, Mario e Carlo persero l'equilibrio e i loro gustosi dessert volarono sui vestiti della gente che si trovava attorno a loro.
En: In an attempt to have their picture taken while holding their ice cream cones, Mario and Carlo lost their balance and their tasty desserts flew onto the clothes of the people around them.

It: Il caos immediatamente cominciò.
En: The chaos immediately began.

It: La gente urlava e piangeva mentre cercava di liberarsi dal gelato appiccicoso che adesso imbrattava i loro vestiti e le loro carnagioni.
En: People screamed and cried as they tried to free themselves from the sticky ice cream that now smeared their clothes and complexions.

It: Ma il più grande problema era rappresentato dai piccioni affamati che si erano radunati intorno ai due amici alla ricerca di qualche resto di gelato.
En: But the biggest problem was represented by the hungry pigeons that had gathered around the two friends looking for some leftover ice cream.

It: Mario e Carlo cercavano di fuggire dalla situazione, ma i piccioni continuavano a seguirli ovunque fossero andati.
En: Mario and Carlo tried to escape from the situation, but the pigeons kept following them wherever they went.

It: Finalmente, Mario ebbe un'idea: avrebbe comprato del mais per attirarli via dalle persone e fuori dalla piazza.
En: Finally, Mario had an idea: he was going to buy some corn to lure them away from the people and out of the square.

It: Dopo qualche minuto, Mario e Carlo avrebbero potuto allontanarsi dall'area e tornare alla loro vita normale.
En: After a few minutes, Mario and Carlo could have moved away from the area and returned to their normal lives.

It: Dopo alcuni tentativi, Mario riuscì a convincere i piccioni a seguirlo e portarli lontani dalla piazza.
En: After a few attempts, Mario managed to convince the pigeons to follow him and take them away from the square.

It: Carlo restò in Piazza San Marco e iniziò a chiedere scusa alle persone che stavano ancora cercando di liberarsi dal gelato appiccicoso.
En: Carlo stayed in Piazza San Marco and started apologizing to people who were still trying to get rid of the sticky ice cream.

It: Mentre tornavano a casa, i due amici si resero conto di quale enorme caos avevano causato, anche se in modo involontario.
En: As they walked home, the two friends realized what a huge mess they had caused, albeit unintentionally.

It: Saettati dalla fatica del giorno, alla fine convennero di non formare un nuovo gruppo fotografico e di rimanere come erano: semplici amici tra un'immersione nel gelato e l'altra.
En: Dazzled by the fatigue of the day, in the end they agreed not to form a new photographic group and to remain as they were: simple friends between one dip in ice cream and another.
