Female Automobile Mechanic Kehinde Adekoya, is a Bachelor's degree holder in Mechanical Engineering from Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Kenny as she prefers to be called is also the lead engineer at FAMTS auto mechanic repair shop.
Kehinde who got her first exposure to an engine and its operations when she took Auto-Mech as a subject in secondary school. made her even more curious and determined to learn more about how engines work. At university, through Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) she interned with Lady Mechanic Initiatives, where she met other ladies who were also in the business of fixing cars. After graduating from the University and before NYSC, she volunteered to work at CODE RED AUTO-SHOP as a mechanic and has been spending her free time there ever since. These experiences intensified her interest in auto mechanics and also opened her eyes to the need for more females in the industry.
As a woman in a heavily male-dominated sector, she feels moved to empower other women that were just like her as a young child but have no one to show them the ropes. she also hopes to help women come to the realization that knowing about the way their cars operate is not the man’s job, but their responsibility as vehicle owners.
