One of my YouTube viewers was given a promotion but no raise and she works more than 60 hours per week! Let's talk about how she would approach the boss.

I would definitely text him. Just say something like, "Sorry, the summer just got away from me, would still love to meet up. Do you have time?" He won't give it a second thought that it took you so long to get back to him. Everyone knows people have busy lives. Definitely do it, you will be glad, and you two have such a history. I have a friend like that. Even if you go long stretches without communicating, it seems like you just pick up where you left off very easily.

Hello Marie again. Thank you for the podcast the other day. I have a new question. 3 months ago I contacted an old classmate from elementary/high school. I hadn't spoken to him in many years (we are both 22). We made plans to meet up and play some basketball *sometime this summer* . He was very enthusiatc over text to hear from me. I told him I would message him when I am available this summer. It's been 3 months and I feel bad cause I kind got nervous/fell through about meeting up being kind of shy person I am. I am nervous cause I haven't seen this person for so long and don't know what to expect. I have about 1 month before the summer is over to actually plan a day, because I did say "this summer". I am hoping it can be a friendship where maybe we can hang out and shoot hoops or something or watch sports. We share these common interests. I don't have many friends to share these activities with. This person really "gets me" for who I am. Have known him since elementary. Went to the same school K-12. But by high school I was the shy kid with no friends so I didn't speak to anyone at all (including him) because I really isolated myself and had was extremely shy. I made no effort to talk to people back then. But he really understands that, his mom is fond of me too and even suggested I come over to their house one day. But we did talk lots during elementary school days! There is a certain bond even though we haven't been in touch much. How do I get over this nervousness and actually send a text and plan something. He is probably wondering why I haven't planned a day yet.
