Today I talk about public education. The current education system is an utter fail. But expecting government or private organizations to fix this is not practical. Either way, we need to find a better way to educate people because the coming age of robotics and AI will make clear how foolish it was to teach kids as if they are robots. The whole idea of rote memorization, fact regurgitation and graded theoretical work all on top of a foundation of factory-line compliance is a complete joke on what it means to educate. What we need to do is use the tools at hand like the internet and AI to create custom education experiences to as many people as possible. More on this tomorrow...
