The Bible tells us that the heart is the seat of all actions of life. The “heart” is used in Scripture as the most comprehensive term for the inner person. It is the part of our being where we desire, deliberate, and decide. It describes the total person as a whole; his feelings, desires, passions, thoughts, understanding and will, and the center of a person.

We are told to keep our hearts with all diligence. The mind, emotions, and our will are what’s inside of us, our thoughts, our priorities, our desires, the sum total of all that we allow into our eyes and ears and our mind is what comes out in our actions and our words.
