News correspondent Peter McCann was in Belfast for the NI Institute of Agri-Science conference on the implications of Brexit on agri-food. There he spoke with David Porter, a farmer from New Zealand, about what happened in his country when subsidies were removed. David said New Zealand might be seen as a shining beacon of hope now, but at the time it was brutal and some farmers were even forced to walk away from their farms.
