In 2020, the federal government hanged the rules so that hospitals can be paid the same amount to treat patients at home. Today, over 300 hospitals and 125 health systems in 37 States have signed up to offer acute care at home.
Patients must meet certain criteria, which incldues living 30 minutes from the hospital, having functional utilities, and having at least one person living with you. Hospital at home services are on a voluntary basis.
