Aloha, surfers and beachgoers! It's time for your daily dose of wave wisdom with your Hawaii surf zone forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service in Honolulu.

Today, we're riding a moderate long-period northwest swell that's keeping the north and west facing shores lively just below High Surf Advisory levels. Expect the surf to hold steady this afternoon and gradually ease off as the evening rolls in. But hold onto your board shorts because a slightly larger west-northwest to northwest swell is on the horizon, set to arrive Sunday afternoon. This new swell may push some areas to High Surf Advisory levels, especially on exposed shores into Monday. Hey, Big Island surfers, keep an eye out as you might see some solid sets making their way toward you on Monday.

While the trade winds keep blowing strong, those short-period easterly wind waves will stay up, creating some choppy conditions. And looking ahead, brace yourselves for more action along the east facing shores in the second half of the coming week. For now, South-facing shores will remain pretty chill at background levels for the next few days.

Starting off in Kauai, tonight's forecast shows some solid sets in the 8-12 foot range for the North, 6-8 feet from the West, 1-3 feet for the South, and 4-6 feet along the East. It's like a buffet of waves out there!

For Oahu tonight, grab your boards for waves around 8-12 feet from the North, 6-8 feet from the West, 1-3 feet from the South, and 4-6 feet from the East. Looks like a well-rounded menu of wave choices!

Moving to Maui, tonight you can expect 8-12 foot waves from the North, 2-4 feet from the West, 1-3 feet from the South, and 4-6 feet from the East. A little something for everyone!

Big Island surfers on the Windward and Southeast sides, your wave forecast is showing 2-4 feet from the North, 4-6 feet from the East, and 2-4 feet from the South tonight. And don't forget to bring your umbrella for numerous showers on Sunday.

For the Leeward side of the Big Island tonight, expect 3-5 foot waves from the West, and 1-3 foot waves from the South. And hey, watch out for those scattered showers this evening.

Whether you're hanging ten or just soaking up the sun, keep an eye out for any changes and stay safe out there, surfers! Catch you next time on the waves. Mahalo!
