Week 4: day 2
HIS VOICE

John 16:13
When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

For His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, we need to be in the know. We have to be in sync and the only way to do that is through His Spirit.
The Holy Spirit guides us by speaking. Infact, all He needs to do is speak because His words are not mere words, they carry power and life.

He speaks, we listen. He speaks, we do. He speaks, we speak. He speaks, we respond.

You need to understand the power of His voice: you need to realize His Word is His presence. His Word is Him.

In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God - John 1:1

Your Faith life started by Hearing Him, it will thrive by Hearing Him: this is how we build, responding positively to Him.

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life - John 6:63.

In our expedition, I hope you see that all we do is a response to God and not the other way round so your zeal doesn't come from your own righteousness.

Hmm, even our actions are translated to words: either a yay or nay?

So what are the characteristics of His voice? Psalms 29

1. Clarity and consistency: His voice is clear and in it, no variance.
2. Powerful and full of majesty: His voice cuts through without turmoil. It comes with the character of His Person, it comes with peace.
3. Full of strength: His voice breaks through. You feel caged? Go for His Word. Do you feel barred? Go for His Word. Do you sense a limitation? Go for His Word. Do you need passage? Go for His Word.
4. Makes a joke out of impossibilities: His voice divides flames of fire! Vs7. What are you afraid of when you got Him? The opinion of the world got nothing on what God says. His foolishness makes foolish the wisest of men.
5. Disrupts: His voice disrupts zones and spaces. It doesn't leave anyone or anything the same way. It comes with a purpose and accomplishes it. Look at the creation! Everything around you, everything we use to create today was created first by His Word.
6. Gives direction and helps make discoveries: His voice points to you the path to take. 'And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left - Isaiah 30:21.'

Let's conclude with this:

Joel 2:11
And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executes his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

I pray today that you incline your ears to His Words through His Spirit as you are led as a son of God in Jesus name, Amen.
