In this special Podcast, John Gonzalez of MLive interviews Grand Rapids comedian Mollie Rehner, who performs in the sketch comedy duo Rehner & Nixon.
Based in Chicago, the duo is one of comedy's hottest sketch shows that really focuses on life from a young woman's perspective. They have traveled all over the country with original songs, dynamic characters and interactive horse play.
"We like to say we're fun, fresh and fearless comedians. Our shows are super fun, and really high energy. Katie and I excel in our character work; we have super physical characters and so many wigs. We're fun," she said.
Mollie is a graduate of the former Rogers High School (now Wyoming HS), and Michigan State University. She is a former promotions intern at the West Michigan Whitecaps and also worked at Fifth Third Ballpark as on-field reporter.
"My roots are in Grand Rapids; I am so excited to be performing in my hometown," Rehner said.
The show is at 7:30 p.m. March 18, 2017 at Dog Story Theater, 7 Jefferson Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI, United States. Admission is FREE. Also performing: The comedy duo Boxfan and sketch comedy team The Don’t We Boys.
