The Goleta postal facility incident on January 30, 2006, was a tragic event involving Jennifer San Marco, a former employee of the United States Postal Service. In Goleta, California, she fatally shot six individuals at the postal facility and then ended her own life. Additionally, before this incident, she had taken the life of a previous neighbor in Santa Barbara.

On January 30, 2006, a tragic sequence of events unfolded when Jennifer San Marco traveled to her old condominium in Santa Barbara, California. There, she took the life of Beverly Graham, a past neighbor with whom she had disagreements. Following this, San Marco headed to the mail processing plant in Goleta. She entered the facility's parking area by closely following another vehicle through the security gate. Inside, she obtained an employee's ID badge at gunpoint, allowing her access to a secured entrance. After instructing the employee to leave unharmed, San Marco proceeded with her plan.

At approximately 9:00 p.m. in the parking lot, San Marco fatally shot Ze Fairchild, aged 37, in the head. She then proceeded to shoot Maleka Higgins at close range, followed by Nicola Grant. Some employees, alerted by the gunshots, witnessed the event from the windows. San Marco was seen smiling at them. A number of employees sought refuge at a nearby fire station.

San Marco then entered the building, where around eighty employees were present. She shot supervisor Charlotte Colton, who was later dragged to safety by a colleague but succumbed to her injuries two days later at Cottage Hospital. Continuing to her former workstation, San Marco encountered Guadalupe Swartz, who attempted to escape but was fatally shot by San Marco. Dexter Shannon, a Vietnam War veteran who was unaware of the situation due to wearing headphones, was also shot fatally at close range. The tragic sequence concluded with San Marco taking her own life.
