Parents and grandparents look to their children as the extension of themselves. You see, those people have no identity beyond that of their children—which is an avenue for them to perpetrate their will upon the world at large. Do people honestly misunderstand this simple phenomenon? Is it such a stretch for people to wrap their heads around this simple ritual? Their lives are for their children, and in that way they are subject to the whims of how to best elevate their children above all others, wherever they meet them.

It's Mike S. Yes, THAT one—the one maligned for understanding that the world is spherical, just as Trish does; yes, the one who knows that there is nothing new under the sun. The Children of Cain are indeed another species; a world dominated by those who want their own way. Amazing to me is how much we agree on so much, yet are separated by the business of whether or not Gibson has always been Gibson, notwithstanding the differences in fonts from one era to another. Interesting, is it not, that a person such as I would be segregated in a way in which you know so well?
