When you have a big goal, you have to break it down to smaller goals, and then focus down on nothing but the 3-5 short steps you have to take that are right in front of you. While run/walking 3 miles (5km) I realized the importance of goal setting, beyond all the theoretical or abstract talks. Of course we all may know of SMART goals... but my 5km journey has shown me exactly what that means. It means to have an overarching goal that really fires you up enough to even make the journey. It means to have a few smaller goals that are like waypoints for you to slow down, rest up, and enjoy the journey. It means to keep your head down and focused on just the next few steps when you're moving fast. It means to learn from all the other journies to help you choose better paths on this one. It means to get all the way to your limits, then surpass them just a little, but don't hurt yourself trying to go way beyond them, because you still have much to go and you only learn and grow when you rest. It means goals are far easier to achieve when you can truly visualize them... so why not create a tool... technology.. a virtual AI buddy to help with your goals?
