hi folks welcome to the child Channel Club recording studio so what have I got for you today well a couple of tips actually I've got um first of all when I'm recording my vocal to chat on these podcasts I've noticed quite often that the volume levels are inappropriately quiet and that's because in relation to the adverts if you're hearing ads sometimes you'll notice the ads are really loud I mean look they do that on purpose we all know that but what it does mean is if you're presenting anything you're going to have adverts you need to just turn that microphone up a little yeah um we don't want your words quietened by you know the likes of American Express they're always advertising with me um and you know I mean I don't have essentially that much control over who's advertising and sometimes I just think oh I don't really like their advert and I don't want to do my podcast um and so yeah just be aware of that if you're if you're recording professionally having said that I can say that I'm peaking now it's really hard to get that balance right isn't it I think this should be okay if I don't stand so close there's another podcast that I do the Martian has deutsched it and I'm very close to the microphone there because she's very sensual and she reads you know erotic poetry so it's a different kind of attack if you like on the vocal for that but this one this one's pretty much this is what you do this is how you do it these are my tips for today and here's your free ringtone so we want to be able to hear it um time is now ringtone what I've been playing around with all these plugins but not the not the plugins that affect the way the signals are going in and then alter them these are sound plugins that add different kind of Vibes and perceptions and it I mean you can do it with EQ a lot of it as well I mean the one thing I do like about logic pro even though I moan about them a bit there's usually more than one way to get an effect you know this sort of three or four ways that you can get the same effect I mean that's the beauty of Electronica I think so I used a plug-in I'm sort of going down the list I mean you I won't bore you with which plugins but experiment with them because they're really good and this one was was quite Airy fairy and I'm going through an Airy fairy phase at the moment but what I quite like to do is mix up the beats per minute to the BPM so a sort of fast BPM and then maybe a slow vocal or the other way around I really like doing that and that's a bit of you know Telltale Club does do that quite a bit in our releases so um you might spot that I like I like mucking around basically and doing something a little bit unexpected just because it sounds different you know and I really want to sound different I don't want to sound the same as everybody else I mean I realized that if I wanted to make a lot of money I have to sound you know you have to follow the genre the money making genre which is of course pop pop music isn't it um and it has to be very bubbly and bouncy and you know bubble gum type stuff and always about love and I don't really do any of those things and you have to enjoy your work I think I think that's really important I love working with words you know words are my the lyrics and the words of my you know big big time and I'm not going to I won't be prepared to put out um anything really cheesy or you know I mean look I'm sounding old here aren't I but pop songs are always if you just look at the lyric you just think God what that's a load of garbage um and that's really not my my bag so yeah a couple of things there um to look out for now you when you've used your sound plug-in which is different from the instrument plugins um once you've done all that you can still go even further with the EQ and the best way to do that is really do a loop and play around with all the options you don't need to play around the whole song necessarily just um you know a section of it get a section of it and loop it and keep playing that over and over again you can try every every you know different EQ that you can it's always best not to use the ones that they have as defaults because they're they're not going to be what you want I can assure you of that and again if you go to Legacy when you look down um for for the mastering Legacy it holds on to the things that you've had in the past which I really like so I always go to my legacy because I no longer have the Hip Hop wide default version I've completely altered it so now it's my it's my version of it's nothing to do with hip-hop anymore of course you can always go back to the default so it's not you know it's not panic over anyway here is your ringtone for today time is now um it's a nice it's free to use do your thing please don't resell it but you can do everything else au revoir the time now the times
