Rex Heuermann submitted his buccal swab on Wed after the court order compelled him to do so. He originally denied the request that was made by prosecutors so they were then forced to ask for a court order. We also learned that the DNA sample will be tested against other samples in other cases that could be tied to Rex Heuermann in other states.


Rex Heuermann has been charged with three murders as of now, with a fourth pending according to investigators.

However, he was eventually apprehended in 2005 when he sent a floppy disk to the police, which contained metadata that could be traced back to him. In a shocking confession, he admitted to the BTK murders and provided chilling details about his crimes during his trial.

In 2005, Dennis Rader was sentenced to ten consecutive life terms in prison without the possibility of parole. The case of the BTK killer remains one of the most disturbing and perplexing in the annals of American criminal history, as it revealed the capacity for extreme violence and deception hidden behind a seemingly ordinary suburban life.
