Our two Gen Z LA-based female entrepreneurs are getting ready to launch Chances, a new social relationships app designed for and by Gen Z. Like most Gen Zers who are entering or just exiting their college years, Chances founders and sisters Vanessa and Noelle don’t really do the “checkbox” thing. They don’t think along the lines of: this is a “relationship,” or these people are “just friends.” Relationships are much more fluid, and the way they spend time together can move from dating to hanging out as friends and back again, or maybe both at once.

What’s important isn’t what you call the relationship, it’s the people in it and their intentions! But, many social apps today define relationships with a “box” mentality of quantity over quality: superficial swipes, number of streaks, likes, views, or followers.
