Born and raised in San Diego, Principal Hernandez attended Chula Vista High School, UCLA for a bachelors in Political Studies and went to SDSU for his Masters in Education and Admin credential. He began teaching 1st grade at Perkins in 1995 and became principal in 2003. This is his 19th year as principal at Perkins.
