Benzito (Mercedes Steele) is an up and coming versatile artist originating from the 6ix. Benzito’s unquenchable passion for music developed from an early age, where she was a part of her church choir and learned several instruments on her own. She attended Oakwood Collegiate, and there had a successful athletic career in basketball while playing for the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA). Her thirst for success didn’t end on the court and transferred over to her music. She has performed at venues such as the TD Bank Stage at Toronto’s Pride Week and been featured on Flow 93.5’s Toronto Takeover. She has collaborated with notable Toronto based artists like Blacka Da Don. Benzito describes herself as an artist that thinks outside of the box and creates music falling under multiple genres, including hip-hop, pop, R&B, and reggae.
