In this episode we continue studying the Book of Exodus. In this episode, the priestly garments were made.

We were told in Exodus chapter 28 that the priestly garments were for beauty and glory. They were made to consecrate Aaron and to bring glory and honor to the priest’s office.

His priestly garments were interwoven with gold beaten into thin plates and cut into wires. His breastplate had 4 rows of fine stones, which included, a diamond, a sapphire and an emerald.

He was truly set apart from the other Israelites.

Yet, we note there was another being in the Bible who was covered with fine stones who also ministered before the Lord as noted in Ezekiel chapter 28 verses 12 through 17.

Here's the text:

Ezekiel 28:12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

Ezekiel 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Ezekiel 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Ezekiel 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Ezekiel 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

When Ezekiel wrote those words, the evil one was ruling the land of Tyrus through its king. Similar to the way he will rule the earth, when he gives a beastly man his power, at the end of the world.

So God addressed the being who had intermingled with the king of Tyrus. And we learn He was once in the Garden of Eden. But was cast out and cast down because of vanity.

Pride in appearance and his abilities made him think more highly of himself than he ought. This led him to pollute the sanctuaries of the Living God.

With this in mind, we note that one being had it all. He had the favor, honor, respect, and authority that Moses had. Moses spoke with God face to face on his Holy Mountain and travelled up and down the mount on various occasions.

This same being had the honor, beauty and glory, that Aaron had and he operated in a priestly capacity before the angels in God's sanctuaries.

This being, was also called son of the morning, like Aaron and the priest who had the responsibility to light the candles in the tabernacle every morning.

This same being, was also filled with wisdom, knowledge and understanding in all manner of workmanship for God’s sanctuary.

We note that when God decided to make all things new. He decided to divide the anointing, wisdom and knowledge the one being had and distrubute them to the sons of men. Then Jesus would come and reconcile all things. He would distribute the gifts, honors and anointings but He alone would have ALL gifts.

He alone would have ALL the wisdom, glory honor, beauty and authority over God's sanctuaries.

We are told that Bezaleel and the people finished the work and Moses beheld that it was done according to the way God commanded.

And like Moses, Christ will look to see if we have done our work as God commanded.

So we note the great commission as recorded by Matthew and Mark.

We note that both authors heard the same words. And when they wrote their account, they wrote about what was important to them and what they thought would be important to their readers.

Here’s Matthew’s Account:

Matthew 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

Matthew 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Here’s Mark’s Account:

Mark 16:14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
