Éxodo 3: Formado y capacitado sin saberlo.
Éxodo 3:1-14:
3 Apacentando Moisés las ovejas de su suegro Jetro, sacerdote de Madián, guió las ovejas más allá del desierto y llegó a Horeb, el monte de Dios. 2 Entonces se le apareció el ángel del SEÑOR en una llama de fuego en medio de una zarza. Él observó y vio que la zarza ardía en el fuego, pero la zarza no se consumía. 3 Entonces Moisés pensó: “Iré, pues, y contemplaré esta gran visión; por qué la zarza no se consume”.
4 Cuando el SEÑOR vio que él se acercaba para mirar, lo llamó desde en medio de la zarza diciéndole: —¡Moisés, Moisés!
Y él respondió: —Heme aquí.
5 Dios le dijo: —No te acerques aquí. Quita las sandalias de tus pies, porque el lugar donde tú estás tierra santa es. 6 Yo soy el Dios de tus padres: el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob.
Entonces Moisés cubrió su cara, porque tuvo miedo de mirar a Dios. 7 Y le dijo el SEÑOR: —Ciertamente he visto la aflicción de mi pueblo que está en Egipto, y he oído su clamor a causa de sus opresores, pues he conocido sus sufrimientos. 8 Yo he descendido para librarlos de la mano de los egipcios y para sacarlos de aquella tierra a una tierra buena y amplia, una tierra que fluye leche y miel, al lugar de los cananeos, heteos, amorreos, ferezeos, heveos y jebuseos. 9 Y ahora, he aquí que el clamor de los hijos de Israel ha llegado hasta mí; también he visto la opresión con que los oprimen los egipcios. 10 Pero ahora, ve, pues yo te envío al faraón para que saques de Egipto a mi pueblo, a los hijos de Israel.
11 Entonces Moisés dijo a Dios: —¿Quién soy yo para ir al faraón y sacar de Egipto a los hijos de Israel?
12 Él respondió: —Ciertamente yo estaré contigo. Esto te servirá como señal de que yo te he enviado: Cuando hayas sacado de Egipto al pueblo, servirán a Dios en este monte.

Al parecer, Moisés olvidó el llamado que tuvo cuando era joven. Se sintió protegido en el anonimato del desierto, donde nadie lo veía como el poderoso hijo de la hija del faraón. Moisés sabía que no podía regresar a su país de crianza porque era un criminal fugitivo. No podía regresar a su pueblo porque no lo veían con confianza, ni creían en él como un líder potencial. Así que él continuó con su nueva identidad como pastor de ganado y yerno del sacerdote de Madián.
Cuando menos se lo esperó, Moisés recibió la visita del Todopoderoso, del Invisible, del Dios de sus ancestros y de sus padres que lo guardó del peligro desde que era un bebé hasta que fue un joven.
El detalle de esta escena es que Moisés nunca había tenido un encuentro sobrenatural con Dios. Sabía de Él pero no lo conocía. Tenía fe en Él pero no había escuchado directamente su voz, ni había visto alguna señal divina de su presencia.
En este caso, Dios se manifestó en una zarza ardiente que no se consumía. Era común que en el desierto se encendieran arbustos secos y que se extinguiera su fuego rápido. Moisés se acercó para ver este fenómeno extraño de la naturaleza y se sorprendió al entender que ¡Dios mismo le estaba hablando!
Dios reanudó su plan con Moisés. Ahora que es un hombre más maduro y humilde por la vida que vivió en el desierto, Dios le revela su plan de liberar al pueblo de Israel de la esclavitud de Egipto, que lo va a hacer con mano fuerte y que el seria el que los iba a guiar hasta la tierra prometida.
La respuesta al llamamiento de Moises fue "No soy nadie, no soy digno, por que yo? ¿Por qué me escoges?
Esto es señal de la inseguridad que Moises desarrolló por el choque emocional sufrido 40 años atrás, cuando pensó que podía ayudar a su pueblo pero fracasó en el intento.
Dios permitió que Moises fuera al desierto para que aprendiera a pastorear rebaños, pues sería el guía del rebaño de Dios. Moises desarrolló paciencia, resiliencia y experiencia en el desierto para cuando llegara el tiempo de sacar al pueblo y dirigirlo por el desierto.
¿Ven el paralelismo? Así como Jose tuvo que tener vivencias personales para poder estar capacitado para la gran obra de Dios, Moises fue entrenado con vivencias personales que le sirvieron plenamente en el cumplimiento de la obra de Dios.
Si Hoy dices: ¿Por qué yo? ¿Por qué estoy pasando por esto? En el mañana, más adelante, entenderás el porqué de esas vivencias.
Cuando llegue el día en que Dios te llame y te de una misión, cuestionarás tus propias habilidades, no te sentirás listo ni preparado para la obra mayor que Dios te tiene. Solamente acepta el llamado con humildad pero no permitas que el temor y la inseguridad te paralicen para dar el paso de fe, cambiar tu rutina diaria por el nuevo llamamiento y reconocer que Dios nos llamó y debemos obedecer.
Mañana veremos cómo debemos unirnos como familia para abrazar ese llamamiento.

Exodus 3:1-14:
Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!”
And he said, “Here I am.”
Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.
And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

Moses apparently forgot the calling he had when he was young. He felt protected in the anonymity of the desert, where no one saw him as the powerful son of the pharaoh's daughter. Moises knew that he could not return to his country of upbringing because he was a fugitive criminal. He could not return to his people because they did not view him with confidence, nor did they believe in him as a potential leader. So he carried on his new identity as a cattle herder and son-in-law to the priest of Midian.
When he least expected it, Moses received a visit from the Almighty, from the Invisible, from the God of his ancestors and his parents who kept him from danger from when he was a baby until he was a young man.
The detail of this scene is that Moses had never had a supernatural encounter with God. He knew of Him but did not know Him. He had faith in Him but had not directly heard His voice, nor had he seen any divine sign of His presence.
In this case, God manifested himself in a burning bush that was not consumed. It was common in the desert for dry bushes to catch fire and their fire to die out quickly. Moses approached to see this strange phenomenon of nature and was surprised to understand that God Himself was speaking to him!
God resumed His plan with Moses when he was a more mature and humble man because of the life he lived in the desert, God revealed him His plan to free the people of Israel from the slavery of Egypt; He told him that He is going to do it with a strong hand and that he would be the one to guide them to the promised land.
The answer to the call of Moses was: "I am nobody, I am not worthy, why me? Why did you choose me?"
This is a sign of the insecurity that Moses developed due to the emotional shock suffered 40 years ago, when he thought he could help his people but failed in the attempt.
God allowed Moses to go to the desert to learn to shepherd flocks, since he would be the leader of the flock of God. Moses developed patience, resilience and experience in the desert for when the time came to take the people out and lead them through the desert.
Do you see the parallel? Just as Joseph had to have personal experiences in order to be qualified for the great work of God, Moses was trained with personal experiences that fully served him in the fulfillment of God's work.
If today you say: "Why me? Why am I going through this?" Someday in the future, sooner or later, you will understand the reason for those experiences.
When the day comes when God calls you and gives you a mission, it is possible that you will question your own abilities, you will not feel ready or prepared for the great work that God has for you. Just accept the call humbly but don't let fear and insecurity paralyze you to step out in faith, to change your daily routine for the new calling and recognize that God called us and we must obey.
Tomorrow we will see how we must come together as a family to embrace that calling.
