I live in this town. It is a 50k population that is extremely conservatively minded. (Unfortunate for the liberally minded family like ours 😕) The LGBTQIA+ issues in all 4 of our school districts, Northwest Public (Saga newspaper), Grand Island Senior High (largest district), Heartland Lutheran High School, and Central Catholic High School is a crazy hot button around here! Unfortunately the actual SAGA edition has not been publicly reprinted. So the big hubbub is so vague in regards to content. Knowing the family of the transgender student, who has since graduated in spring '22, I would be surprised if the articles were radical. This student is thoughtful, respectful & I'm sure writing from a educational standpoint for his peers. He has left his mark on the community with this issue- may he continue to speak his truth, write his truth and be a shining light to our world! I have high hopes
