Nature time has been scientifically proven to have positive effects on your health from a healthier heart and immune system and reduced stress in adults, to better eyesight and brain power in kids. Nature prescriptions are among the top global wellness trends. Canada has now joined countries like the UK and others to invest in park prescription pilots to help address mental and physical health problems and their impact on the health-care system.
Forest Therapy, a research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments is a practice inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which translates to “forest bathing.” 90% of people indicate that they are happier after just 15 minutes of sitting in a forest. Nature therapy increases a sense of well-being, improves concentration levels and physical health in adults and children and generally reduces stress and helps people live longer lives.
