Thanks for covering the Gavis family story. I remember when this happened.
I grew up in Spotsy (near Snell) and Big John was my dad's hunting and fishing buddy. This story has just never felt right. I've always wondered what switch was flipped and why. (I *DO* wish there a trigger warning before you brought up John J. Wright! LOL!)
As a true crime junkie, I've never understood why the Gavis story was not more ubiquitous.
