For far too long, Native families have had to suffer and endure the pain of not knowing what has happened to missing and or murdered loved ones. Secretary Haaland will finally make finding peace and closure a reality.
Power went out before the end, just got it back but the show was over. Have a great weekend everyone.

Sandra, if you're not familiar with the link I shared earlier on changing the narrative, I hope you'll take a look, too, and tell me what you think.

These stories just break my heart. 😢 I've been involved in little ways in raising awareness here. There is a "pipeline" for trafficking MMIW that runs west to the I-5 corridor and then south into California. Also northern missing persons to CA

It's a great resource, and the collaborators in developing this guide are native leaders from many tribes and nations. Provides clear, step-by-step examples of how to change the narrative about things like mascots, for example.

Hal and others who want to do more and know more about how to be allies for Native American/Indigenous people, Google "Changing the Narrative About Native Americans." https://rnt.firstnations.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/MessageGuide-Allies-screen.pdf

I think about this all the time, and although getting more educated is important I often find it doesn't change much for me to be more aware and end up thinking what more I could do to make a bigger impact.

Michael, I may have a contact (native sister) from CA who might be able to provide some help and contacts for him. Let me know if you think that would be helpful.
