We can change something for ourselves in our own behavior. When we do that, the other person has to change because they would have to behave differently. When you change a behavior in yourself, the other person cannot react the same way as they have in the past. And therefore you change your behavior. Examples of behavioral changes you can make in yourself that will get you a different response from another person. You're no longer insane repeating the same behavior and getting the same results. Now you're having a different behavior therefore they have to give you a different behavior and therefore you get a different result.
