This was the very first and very last Halloween Havoc under the NWA banner. By 1990, it would be WCW Halloween Havoc. For this first event, we're treated to Ric Flair & Sting taking on Terry Funk & The Great Muta an electrified steel cage with Halloween decorations all over it, called the Thunderdome Cage! Keep in mind that this show is in Philadelphia, and the smart marks are running wild on cheering the heels and booing the babyfaces (for the most part). On this night, the Steiner Brothers also do battle with the brand new team of Doom, a cocky Lex Luger puts his US Heavyweight Title on the line against Flyin' Brian, and a babyface Jim Cornette manages two tag-teams. Don't miss the news as Dave Meltzer editorializes some stories, hosts Troy & Greg discuss Koko B. Ware being fired by the WWF after defending himself against a racist, and Antonio Inoki gets stabbed!
