Take-aways:
-Emotional freedom technique (EFT) or tapping while talking through something releases tension throughout the nervous system
-Our emotions affect our physical bodies
-The starting place for tapping can be recognizing an emotion and tapping through it, or consciously recalling a traumatic memory and tapping through that
-Opening up your subconscious mind and releasing resistance helps your mind and body process through your stored emotions
-We can change our future by changing our now
-It’s completely okay to keep coming back to the same emotion or same memory - there can be multiple levels to work through
-Underneath our emotions are physical sensations. When you recognize these sensations, you don’t have to use tapping, you can be aware of the sensations and then let them go
-Releasing stored emotions can result in real, physical changes
-Many diseases have a psychosomatic component - there is nothing to be embarrassed about that our minds and bodies are intricately connected
-Accept what you are feeling - the power will dissipate
