my grandfather was Mark Clark's briefing officer (or at least one of them) during his tenure in Korea. After the truce was declared, Clark's staff allegedly had a small garden party to celebrate the end of hostilities. My grandfather said that general Clark entered the room, stated "I have just signed a document such as no other commanding American general has signed before ." And then Clark left.
