How many of us pray the rosary, or divine mercy chaplet, or novena prayer as if they were some incantation, expecting God to answer our prayer by the sheer number of times we pray them. Or sometimes we get so frustrated because we often are driven by "a checklist prayer" mentality or give up because God did not answer our prayers.
But there is a logical progression or path of prayer, which can truly eliminate all of our vices, build virtues and help us on our imperfections. This logical path of prayer, or ascetic prayer, life is simple and truly harnesses the power of prayer to become more loving, caring, peaceful and Holy. The power of prayer is not getting God to answer our prayers, but by willingly changing who we are by loving God through prayer.
