Different battles call for new strategies at times. In the book of Joshua when the children of Israel were going into battle with various nations, for each, God gave them a different strategy. For Jericho, God told them to circle around the walls of Jericho for the first six days, and on the 7th day, when the trumpets sounded, Joshua commanded the army to shout, “and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city” (Joshua 6:20).

As for the land of Ai God instructed Joshua and a group of his man to distract the people of Ai by going and running away from the city and once they moved from the city, the Army of Israel came and destroyed the city.

Every single time Joshua knew which strategy would give the children of Israel victory because he heard from God. We must be in relationship with God in every season, in every new territory to know which weapons to use.
