Rep. Billy Long of Missouri claimed that “inanimate objects” are being blamed for tragedies, and that gun control is not the solution to ending gun violence.  “When I was growing up in Springfield, you had one or two murders a year. Now, we have two, three, or four a week in Springfield, Missouri. So, something has happened to our society. I go back to abortion when we decided it was okay to murder kids in their mothers’ wombs. Life has no value to a lot of these folks.” The GOP's sand-pounding will happen soon as their brand of crazy may finally unwind. Slowly the Big Lie will unspool, inch-by-inch over the eight or more hearings, despite some attempts to frame legislation that might reform the Electoral College processes. There will be revelations and perhaps surprises. The previous guy is definitely shaken and more than stirred by the plethora of facts, so much so that he might even declare his 2024 run on 4 July to fundraise against the attention created by the Select Committee.
