A couple of tips that can be put into place immediately to help reduce your fuel spend are:

Minimize your cruise speed, also find your “sweet spot” with your cruise RPM
Plan your trip in advance, use navigation, and look for the lowest-cost stations
Take the shortest route…
When you do make a stop to refuel and replenish your body make the best use of your stop to avoid unnecessary stops en route
