Ca: Martí era un jove entusiasta que anava a Barcelona per la primera vegada.
En: Martí was an enthusiastic young man who was going to Barcelona for the first time.

Ca: Va mirar al voltant i es va sentir impressionat per la ciutat.
En: He looked around and was impressed by the city.

Ca: Va veure la catedral de la ciutat de lluny i no podia esperar a arribar allà.
En: He saw the city's cathedral from afar and couldn't wait to get there.

Ca: Va caminar per les estretes i antigues carreteres del Barri Gòtic i es va sorprendre amb els edificis històrics i la varietat de les botigues que oferien les especialitats de la ciutat.
En: He walked the narrow and old streets of the Gothic Quarter and was surprised by the historic buildings and the variety of shops that offered the specialties of the city.

Ca: Martí es va adonar que tenia molta gana.
En: Martí noticed that he was very hungry.

Ca: Va pensar en la "coca de recapte", un plat típic de la regió.
En: He thought of the "coca de recapte", a typical dish of the region.

Ca: Va intentar repetir el nom diverses vegades per assegurar-se que el diria bé al restaurant.
En: He tried repeating the name several times to make sure he would say it right in the restaurant.

Ca: Va arribar a un petit lloc de la zona turística on van tenir "coca de recapte".

Ca: El cambrer li va fer una cara estranya i va preguntar si volia una cuca de cavala.
En: The waiter gave him a strange face and asked if he wanted a mackerel worm.
