"For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry.
During that time the devil came and said to him, 'If you are the son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.'
But Jesus told him, 'No! The Scriptures say, People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God."- Matthew 4:1-4.
"...know also, that in the last days there will be difficult times.
For people will love only themselves...
...scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection...lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
...from such turn away.
...from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus:
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable...
It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work."-
Excerpt from 2 Timothy 3 KJV and NLT.
Merciful Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we joyfully thank you for being all powerful, all knowing, and ever present;
we thank you that your ways and thoughts are higher than ours.
Lord God Almighty we thank you for your son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, who was able to defeat the devil in all forms;
We thank you for strengthening Jesus during his wilderness moment: allowing him not to forfeit the mission you gave him.
We thank you for teaching us to lean on your Holy Word in all circumstances and not our knowledge, nor own understanding.
We repent of our sin.
We forgive and receive forgiveness.
We thank you for loving us unconditionally.
We thank you for blessing us with answered prayers, heart's desires, and all of the blessings that you have for us:
we receive them.
Jesus is the Lord.
Amen.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord..."- Jeremiah 29:11.
