Episode 686 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast and we’re talking with UW-La Crosse head wrestling coach Dave Malecek about the upcoming triple-dual in La Crosse on November 12 featuring Division I, Division II and Division III simultaneously. We'll also chat about Dave's time in La Crosse and D3 wrestling overall.

Malecek was a 1994 All-American for Northern Iowa at 190 pounds before getting into high school teaching and coaching. The opportunity arose to join the Wartburg staff in 2000 and that’s where his affinity for Division III grew after being born outside of Storm Lake, Iowa with then-Buena Vista coach Al Baxter.

Malecek has coached the Eagles to 13 individual titles since his arrival and has been a trophy-contending team for much of his tenure.
